I conduct formal, individual IQ tests from age 6 and up.

I offer a formal psychometric testing environment for assessment of candidates referred by companies/recruiters not based in Sandton who require testing of job candidates; and a formal testing environment for testing referred by psychologists who want to out-source testing.

I offer a certain psychometric tests for psychologists working on family and forensic matters, to use and administer themselves. I provide test scoring and report writing for these tests of sexual addictions and dysfunctions (Garos), personality functioning, and parent-child relationship issues (Parent-Child Relationship Inventory), and others.

Services

1. Career guidance: vocational APTITUDE assessments for STUDENTS AND ADULTS SEEKING CAREER CHANGE

“You must either modify your dreams, or magnify your skills”
-Jim Rohn

I offer a psychometric career development assessment for those who plan to start a new career, change their current career direction, want to look at further study, may have recently been retrenched, are HR practitioners looking to offer options to employees, want to find a specialisation or change their career direction completely, or just want to see what would have come to light had they had the opportunity to be assessed when they were in school. The battery of psychometric tests in this assessment process includes measures of:

  • Intellectual, problem-solving and mental aptitudes,

  • Depth, range and knowledge of different current career field Interests,

  • In-depth assessment of workplace personality factors, and the ‘fit’ of these factors with specific potential careers, environments, hierarchies, work spaces, colleagues and

  • Personal values, priorities, needs and drives that maintain and inform career satisfaction and future lifestyle preferences.

Psychometric testing is done one-on-one, involving several different psychometric tests, with a separate feedback session at which to discuss results, the career recommendations and study options that testing reveals. Assessments are usually week days, preferably 10:00 to 13:00 or 14:00 to 17:00, or Saturday mornings 10:00 to 13:00. An online version of this is possible for those in remote locations.

The power of doing this assessment is to utilise the expertise of an assessor who currently conducts recruitment and selection assessments for large companies; who personally has completed 4 degrees, who has worked full time in multiple types of psychology practice for 25 years; for a psychometrist to select a battery of appropriate tests that cover all of the areas necessary for making sound career decisions; for them to interpret, analyse and integrate those test results, and to then identify those careers which are a good match, given your particular life context at present, and provide you with this information in order to begin a new, informed and considered career journey.

2. SUBJECT CHOICE and CAREER aptitude ASSESSMENTS: HIGH SCHOOL

For high school scholars from Grade 9 and up, facing subject-choice decisions, Grade 11 and 12 students considering their tertiary options, or university students reconsidering career or study direction, I offer a vocational psychometric assessment that :

  • Measures intellectual aptitude and learning capacity;

  • Tests depth, range and consistency of career interests,

  • Measures personality functioning and factors as they relate to different jobs and careers, and

  • Assesses values and needs, motives and drives, and how these may or may not match with a particular future career path choice and expectations.

In-person aptitude testing at my office is interactive, with a separate 45 minute feedback session a few days later and a comprehensive report that covers test results, recommended careers, subject-choices/compulsory subjects, tertiary entrance requirements and other specific career recommendations. Parents are encouraged to attend the feedback session. Testing is usually done from 10:00 to 13:00, or 14:00 to 17:00 week days, or 10:00 to 13:00 on Saturdays. Psychometric testing usually takes two and a half to three hours for most students to complete. Psychometric testing is good practice for entry into many corporate jobs that now require it prior to employment.

3. psychometric Educational Assessments

To evaluate a school-goer’s intellectual and scholastic progress with regards various skills including reading, spelling, comprehension, Mathematics, hand-writing, concentration, memory and other academic and mental abilities.

From age 6 to 17. A psychometric educational assessment gives a comprehensive and objective overview of where a learner is at educationally in their skill development, relative to their age-level - important when making school placement decisions, changing educational systems, emigration, or when applying for examination accommodations such as extra-time, etc. This is done using standardised tests in a controlled environment in order to achieve an objective measurement against a common standard.
