Background

Introduction

Psychometric testing is a science concerned with the theory and technique of psychological measurement. The field is concerned with the objective measurement of skills and knowledge, intelligence, abilities, attitudes, aptitudes, personality traits, personal integrity, emotional and psychological functioning and educational achievement.

I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Psychometrist in private, independent practice. Registration in SA is mandatory.

I spent the first nine years of my professional career working in a large educational psychology practice. There I conducted educational and career guidance assessments daily. Since then, I’ve spent time at a medical practice, and at a clinical and counseling psychology practice. During these periods, I’ve worked on large projects, in the assessment of potential employees, mostly for large enterprises, such as Eskom, the Pebble Bed Modular Reactor Company and Transnet, as well as smaller, private companies and banks.

Now working as a fully independent Psychometrist, I’ve moved towards pre-employment selection and recruitment psychometric assessments for large and small organisations , as well as career guidance and aptitude testing for both scholars and adults. I cooperate with and conduct psychometric testing for private practice Psychologists, where a secure testing environment is required, and for schools on an ad hoc basis.
